so i ordered 10 pound order of italian evergreen soapstone from a place in cali. it arrived today and i was kinda expecting 2 or 3 large chunks equaling 10 pounds. what i got was a sing huge 10 pound block of the stone....does anyone have a band saw? maybe set up with a blade for hard materials?

we finally harvested the hops we grew...got enough for a batch of beer. they are currently drying. we have also decided to harvest some of the wild hops growing by the river....they smell pretty good so we are going to give it a shot. i was thinking of calling the wild hops by a name, since they arent a specific hop... i donno maybe...
river sludge.

gutter hops.
i dont know...let me know if you got an idea.

so i finally broke down and got fallout 3...i loved the first ones so much. i figured they would ruin it. but it is really amazing. i had a control stick reversing glitch and ended up formating my xbox hard drive to fix it. but now it works normally.

so last night we bottled our second batch of beer last night, which is a red ale. we then brewed a new batch up which is an ipa. william and sam for the win.

also we seem to be getting better at this. it has been taking less time and there have been less problems with each new batch.

also saw adam this weekend. good times.

ok several things. there is a wind turbine called jellyfish that is slated to come out next year...it is 36 inches tall it costs 400 dollars! all you do is plug it into an outlet.

we just started our second batch of beer last night...we started it a couple weeks late but whatever its going. its a red ale and i think its gonna be good. we kick ass. so the process starts over.

so i kinda failed on beer updating. so...well here is a recap and a story about me being a chicken.

so we made beer. as i said before.
we racked it into the second fermentation chamber after one week. to remove a large portion of the sediment and dead yeast.
it sat in the secondary fermenter for one week.
it is now in bottles which is where it will sit for another two weeks. we used sugar in the raw for the priming sugar. so we shall see how that works.
racked- fancy beer word for transfered
priming sugar- priming sugar gives the remaining yeast food to keep doing its thing while in the bottles this activity plus the lack of air space is what gives the beer its carbonation.

i was out on my nightly bike ride last night and i was going down this creepy street and i heard a bunch of loud crunching and crashing in the bushes to i started frantically pedaling to get away from what i assumed to be a dog. the noise kept up with me and suddenly stopped...so i looked back heart pounding expecting to see a large dog about to attack me. but instead a little orange cat was leaping around behind me.

william and i went for an hour and 20 minute ride on our bikes yesterday i had a damn good time and got quite a bit of a workout. i lasted a lot longer than i thought i would so awesome for me. also still been doing the veg thing so i am kicking ass on two fronts now!

after years of talking about it william and i have finally made beer. well...its not beer yet but its bubbling away! so we kick ass. brian came over to help and drink some beer. HK offered moral support. so we shall see how it comes out.
also i had a dream that william called me and said the beer was ruined. i woke up at 3 and stumbled/ran to the beer and there it was doing its thing just fine. thanks a lot stupid dream william. also maybe i have to much invested in this.

you know...i had a thought while i was smoking.
with all the big talk about how change was coming to the white house. i have realized how stupid that concept is when used as a reason to vote for one person or another. when i bring up the idea that obama is not really that much of a change people get mad and say "He isnt bush"...well...if that is the change we were expecting it was inevitable, there is no way for bush to be in office again. so mc cain could have still been the candidate for change.
